PIZZA FATTA IN CASA

This Neapolitan typical recipe became the symbol of Italian cuisine all over the world. It's a very old dish prepared with the simplest of ingredients: flour, water, salt, tomatoes, olive oil and mozzarella cheese. Its simplicity stands in inverse proportion to its tastiness and probably that's why everybody has always gone crazy for it.

Sadly, pizza is often seen as a junk food. Not here in Italy, though. Aware of the excess load of carbs that it carries, we tend not to have it more than once a week. But still, for us it's just dressed up bread!

If you try this super easy recipe, you won't go back buying ready made pizza.

Ingredients:

1 kg Flour

60 grams Extra virgin olive oil

600 grams Water

20 grams Salt

Natural Yeast

2 teaspoons Sugar

What to do:

First, mix the flour with the yeast, sugar, water and salt. Keep kneading in order to get a uniform mixture. Start adding the olive oil little by little, paying attention not to create any lumps. When you have added all the oil, put the dough in a bowl and cover it with film. Leave it rise for at least 2 hours until the dough has doubled its volume.

Now the dough is ready: you only need to spread it out, dress it with tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, anything you want and bake it.
